Course Details

This remote training course includes foundation work to get you started on training your puppy, newly adopted dog, or existing dog that needs to learn the basics. Your dog gets to learn in an optimum learning environment, your home, where there are little to no distractions. Build a bond and working relationship right from the start, or improve upon what you have. Teach proper behavior and set the stage for further learning.

For new puppy owners, this is a crucial time for socialization* and training. Management strategies until proper behavior and choices have been established is critical to success. You will get information on all the puppy topics, and learn skills in using your management tools to support your efforts in teaching your puppy proper behavior and choices.

The course is divided into weekly assignments with skills, cues, and games so you have direction in how to proceed, but you are also welcome to skip around to address your specific needs and priorities.

All cues and games are taught with the theory of reward-based training. No leash pops or hard corrections. No harsh corrections that can be damaging to your impressionable puppy or your relationship.

Your puppy will learn both verbal and visual cues as well as behavior both on leash and off-leash.

*Proper socialization is crucial for healthy development. Taking a puppy class is a helpful way to socialize your puppy as well as practice your cues and games in public places.

Level 1 Course Options

Level 1 Training Course (Regular Price $165, DWA $125): This is the price for access to Level 1 training course. When purchased as a bundle and with additional levels, the discounts keep adding up!

Consults (Regular Price $50, DWA $45, bundled with courses $35): When purchased with a training course, consults allow you to personalize your training and get one-on-one time with our professional trainers. Julee and Margie have years of experience training dogs and working with DWA Aussies. This is the best way to get real-time tips and troubleshooting strategies for optimum results. You can choose the number of consults you want - weekly, bi-weekly, etc. All phone/video consults with your trainer are scheduled by you. You make the call, and they last about an hour. They must be scheduled within the agreed contract start and end date. Level 1 is a 30-day support course. Consult services will not begin until the contract is signed and returned.

Once an option is purchased and services/digital goods are provided, there are no refunds. Make sure to choose the number of consults you want from the beginning and save! Payment must be recieved 24 hours before the scheduled consult time.

You may also add-on from one Level (training course) to a higher one. These two courses are also bundled together and are offered at over 35% discount. If you want to upgrade your Level 1 course to include Level 2, it must be done before your contract date has ended. To upgrade, simply inform you trainer and an invoice will be sent to your for the upgrade price of $115 (includes processing and recontracting fee) and also any additional consults for the $35.00 discount price. Otherwise, you can add-on Level 2 for $145 at a later date and keep the training momentum going - there is still so much more to learn as your puppy grows. So make sure to choose the level you want with all the options you want from the beginning and save!

Boundary Training Online Course

A very important aspect of developing a balance between calm and energy (an on/off switch) is training your dog to go to a boundary. To train with reliabiity, this course will utilize games to teach your dog to go to and stay in a designated area until released. This could be a mat, a crate, a dog bed, a tent, a platform – you name it! Boundary training has so many benefits and applications for real-life situations:

• They promote and develop calmness
• They promote and develop impulse control (self-control)
• They can decrease arousal and promote calmness
• They can increase arousal and boost motivation (yes they can do both!)
• They support the vital concepts of confidence, focus, and calmness
• They assist and can be a recall option
• They teach good manners and default behaviors
• They are a soultion to preventing or working through certain problem behaviors
• It's a safe place for a timid or fearful dog to go to
• They are an excellent management and sanity-saving strategy for multi-dog households
• They clarify and clean up your training sessions

So what do boundary games consist of and what is the criteria included in the course? To your dog, boundary games teach:

• You go in this area on cue
• You stay in this area and are calm
• You do not leave this area until you hear your release cue
• Your release cue means leave the area and interact with me or something I direct you to

Seems simple right? These games not only become a crucial management process for any dog, including high-drive dogs, but they also train essential life skills called concepts! Here are a few that playing these simple games can convey:

• When the dog goes to a boundary, the default behavior is to be calm
• The dog switches off (lower arousal) and then switches back on (higher arousal)only if or when you signal
• Some areas and distractions are sometimes out of bounds and that’s a good thing
• Your release cue means your dog can go interact with something fun - and that fun thing is YOU most of the time or something else you designate
• Your dog learns good impulse control and good manners for a variety of situations, from home visitors, to meal times, work at home, etc.
• There may be things going on around your dog, something that will be exciting, but your dog learns to remain calm and in control, staying in a calm place and head-space until you are ready for your dog to join you

Training the simple rules of the game to your dog, you convey numerous messages that, with a little help, can be generalized to a variety of situations, which is really cool!

I Do Recall Online Training Course

This online course includes foundation work to get you starated on training your dog the critical skills of a solid recall. It then takes you through the proofing stage where you play a variety of recall games to build value and good habits. Recalls become a fun game that is reinforcing for your dog - where there is value, your dog will choose it over other things. Next, you are take through various strategies to teach your dog how to work through distractions and still choose you. And finally, there is a bonus material page that teaches you complimentary lessons and supporting games for all types of recalls. Yes, you will be teaching varing types of recalls, from formal to informal, proximity or control. This is an amazing training course that will last a lifetime.

What is Included:
